Shibori is an ancient Japanese manual resist dyeing technique to create patterns onto fabric. Nui shibori is a hand-stitching resist technique using a simple running stitch to create the desired design. Often used for more complex patterns, the stitches are pulled tightly through the fabric to create folds or pleats and knotted into place, before dying.
