Shibori is an ancient Japanese manual resist dyeing technique to create patterns onto fabric. Arashi shibori – also known as pole-wrapping – is a technique by which the fabric is wrapped on a diagonal around a pole, before being tightly bound and compressed to create a diagonal style pattern, often thought to resemble driving rain (Arashi means ‘storm’ in Japanese)
