These special towel weave shawls are woven on a handloom using a combination of carpet and shawl weaving techniques, with the pattern wovern as part of the fabric in the same manner as Kaani shawls. (Kaani is a twill tapestry technique unique to the Kashmir Valley). Each shawl takes several months to weave.
